The Iowa District exists to serve and support theologically moderate Lutheran congregations throughout the State of Iowa.  All LCMC congregations in Iowa are “automatically” welcome to participate.  To become a formal member, congregations simply need to decide to join and then let us know.  Only LCMC congregations can be Voting Members, although others are certainly welcome to join in service and fellowship as Associate Members.  Because the Iowa District has (verbatim) the same doctrinal position as the LCMC and because congregations cede no authority to the District, a simple vote by the Church Council (or comparable board) is sufficient for most LCMC congregations in Iowa.  (The exception would be if your congregational governing documents required a congregational vote.)  If you choose to join us, please email the following information to us:
